On the evenings of June 7 and 8, the Memorial will be transformed into a stunning multi-media sensory display as the Memorial presents When We Went In: The D-Day Experience in Light and Sound, created exclusively for the National D-Day Memorial by the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT) at Virginia Tech. As night falls, immerse yourself while D-Day unfolds all around you in a spectacular display of light, imagery, and sound. World War II in Miniature

The Roanoke Valley chapter of the International Plastic Modelers Society will present “World War II in Miniature,” a one-of-a-kind display featuring miniature World War II model planes, tanks, ships, jeeps, historic figures, and more. Vote for your favorite model for $1, with proceeds to benefit the Memorial. The winning model receives the People’s Choice Award! Younger visitors can create miniature WWII vehicles using LEGO bricks. Regular admission fees apply.

Town of Bedford, VA Fireworks Notice

Town of Bedford, VA

Though the Town of Bedford, VA’s annual fireworks display is launched from the National D-Day Memorial grounds, the Memorial is not a public viewing location. On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the Memorial will close to the public at 5PM.
