An annual Memorial Day weekend tradition, this stirring concert will have guests on their feet celebrating freedom and honoring those who gave all to secure it. Featuring the Jefferson Choral Society and new for 2025 – jazz vocalist Tina Hashemi and her band will open the show.

The Jefferson Choral Society (JCS) is the longest-performing and largest volunteer adult choir in Central Virginia, providing the greater Lynchburg area with a variety of performances including choral masterworks, as well as Broadway show tunes, folk songs, popular music, gospel music, and music from nations around the world.
Tina Hashemi is an emerging jazz vocalist who brings a sweet sensibility to classic jazz standards and the Great American Songbook. Her pure, unaffected tone, her sense of swing, and her creativity as an improvisor with big ears and stores of imagination have made her a favorite throughout the Virginia/D.C. area. in 2024, Hashemi was awarded 3rd place in the international Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition based out of Blues Alley, that was judged by the New York Voices.
